Mesquite Paloma – A Year of Cocktails

I was sent a bottle of Crown Royal Texas Mesquite Whisky to sample.  I was not paid or asked to promote it in any way.  All opinions are my own honest opinions.

Crown Royal Texas Mesquite Whisky, ever heard of it?  I hadn’t either until I was sent a bottle to try.  When you mix it with pink grapefruit soda, um…….delicious!  May I introduce to you the Mesquite Paloma.

It’s finally Friday!

We made it through our first full “Back To School” week.

Out of my 2 elementary girls, one went to school all week.  The other got sick with a fever and missed 2 days.  Oh the joys of other children’s germs.

I was excited to try this new flavor by Crown Royal.  It’s perfect and just in time for Labor Day weekend!  Can you say BBQ’s and Texas Mesquite Whisky?!?

Yes please!

When you open up the bottle you don’t exactly have an overwhelming smell of mesquite.  That made me think…well does it even taste like mesquite?

Um yes it does and it’s delicious!!

You take a sip and get the whisky flavor which is quickly followed by the mesquite flavoring.  It’s pretty darn good!  So good that I can not wait for my husband to come home and try it because I know he will love it!

This whisky can be enjoyed on its own or with a simple mixer, or even a couple simple items.  You don’t want to go overboard with all of these different flavors because you want to let the mesquite flavor come through.

I was sent tonight’s cocktail recipe along with the bottle.  There were actually 4 recipes sent, but this one I wanted to try the most because I’ve been dying to try a cocktail with pink grapefruit soda!

First thing’s first.  Add the Crown Royal Texas Mesquite.

Then the pink grapefruit soda.

Mix it up and into a glass it goes.

Easy enough right?

For such a simple cocktail, it packs such a great flavor!

Mesquite Paloma

I hope you all enjoy Labor Day weekend!  We are excited that the kids don’t have school on Monday!  That gives us one extra day to recover.
