New Booze: Four new whiskies hit the market.
Old Forester Whiskey Row Series
Old Forester Bourbon Whisky annouces the launch of the Old Forester Whiskey Row Series in late-November. The series will allow consumers to sip Old Forester as it was enjoyed in the late 1800’s through the mid-1920’s.
The initial release of the series, 1870 Original Batch, will commemorate the year Old Forester became the first batched bourbon. Prior to its release, bourbon was sold by the barrel causing quality and taste profile to vary. Old Forester’s founder George Garvin Brown batched bourbon from three different distilleries to create a product that was consistent.
To emulate Brown’s 1870 bourbon, the 1870 Original Batch bourbon is comprised of barrels selected from three different warehouses with a different day of production as well as a different entry proof and maturation period. The expressions will be batched together to create this 90-proof product.
With a suggested retail price of $44.99 for a 750 ml at 45{fc3f376329c99bd779b6ce2458e4c36cbf71a84b322032467f8d6f12beb3a1d6} ABV, 1870 Original Batch will roll out in select cities: Chicago, Denver, Louisville, Nashville, New York City, Seattle and San Francisco.
